Description

Stylish Levenhuk LabZZ M101 microscope looks like a high-end instrument from a science fiction movie – a perfect choice for an inquisitive child! A young explorer can study the internal structure of indoor plants, observe insects, detect microorganisms in a water drop and many other exciting things! The kit includes everything needed for very first biological experiments. The design looks very unusual – such a gift is not only useful but engaging as well!

High-quality optics
Although this microscope is designed for kids, in terms of optical performance, it can be compared to many 'adult' microscopes. The microscope is equipped with three objective lenses: 4x, 10x and 40x. To switch the objective, simply turn the revolving nosepiece. The unique feature of this microscope is its sliding two-position eyepiece (10x and 16x). It is very convenient to use. And it’s more convenient than having two standard eyepieces. The microscope provides six levels of magnification: 40x, 64x, 100x, 160x, 400x and 640x.

Studying the microcosm
This microscope allows for observing transparent samples – an aquarium water drop, thin slices of plants, or prepared microscope slides. The objects should be placed on the convenient round stage and fixed with two clips. Thanks to those clips, the studied specimen will always stay in place. Light emitted by LED diodes (located below the stage) passes through the specimen, creating the magnified image in the eyepiece. The brightness level can be adjusted.

Smart design
The body is made of durable plastic. That is why it is so lightweight, yet very reliable. For more convenience, the head is inclined 45 degrees. The design is distinguished by its high safety – the illumination is powered by batteries, not a power source. Thanks to that, the microscope can be used outdoors.

Kit for interesting experiments
The microscope comes with a special kit for conducting interesting experiments. It includes prepared slides, tools for microscopic work, and a detailed user guide.

  • Bright children’s microscope with magnification power up to 640x

Hello. What microscope model should I choose for a 13yo child for the study of biological materials and fluids?
Customer service:
We recommend that you consider our school microscope models: Levenhuk Rainbow 2L PLUS https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-plus-microscope/ , Levenhuk Rainbow 50L https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-50l-microscope/ , and Levenhuk Rainbow 50L PLUS https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-50l-plus-microscope/ .
Max Mann (2018.03.27)
Can I replace the eyepieces? Objectives? Are they removable? And one more question. Wll I see infusorian, blood cells, bone tissue??
Customer service:
Levenhuk LabZZ M101 Amethyst Microscope has removable eyepieces, while objectives are fixed. You will be able to observe protozoa, prepared slides, thin cuts, plant cells. To get detailed images of blood you will need a laboratory microscope. For example, Levenhuk 320 BASE Biological Monocular Microscope: https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-320-base-biological-monocular-microscope/ .
Ayla Danwer (2018.02.19)
Levenhuk LabZZ M101 Amethyst does not include glasses with recess, cover slips… can I buy them separately?
Customer service:
We recommend that you buy Levenhuk G100 Cover Slips https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/microscope-accessories/microscope-cover-glasses/levenhuk-g100-cover-slips/ . Glasses with recess are, unfortunately, not available in our product range.
Kate Paul (2018.02.10)
Greetings! Which microscope (among the cheapest models) is the most suitable for kids 6 to 7 years old? With an ability to show an insect wing and other things like that.
Customer service:
For observations of insect wings and other similar samples, we recommend that you pay your attention to Levenhuk LabZZ M101 https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-labzz-m101-microscope/ as well as Levenhuk LabZZ M2 https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-labzz-m2-microscope/ . Thank you for a quick reply! The microscope is great, very convenient, guide is simple to understand. Thanks a lot

You should adjust the illumination brightness and start focusing from the lowest magnification power to the highest. If this won‘t work, we recommend that you contact our service center.
Antonio Setti (2017.12.26)
Hello! Is it suitable for observations of minerals, crystals, and stones? Or LabZZ M4 will be better?

Customer service:
With Levenhuk LabZZ M101 Amethyst Microscope, you can use any kit in this section: https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/microscope-accessories/microscope-experiment-sets/ . Consider models working on both batteries and AC power: Levenhuk Rainbow 2L, https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-microscope/ ; Levenhuk Rainbow 2L PLUS, https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-plus-microscope/ .
Swift (2017.12.24)
Help me choose please… I need a microscope for a six years old kid. I understand that it a little early but he wants to observe bacteria and, as I know, instrument suitable for that cost more… I’m considering two models: M3 and M101. Which one is better and what’s the difference? Projector has no importance for me.
Customer service:
The difference between Levenhuk LabZZ M3 and Levenhuk LabZZ M101 microscopes is their magnification power. Both are primary-level, children’s microscopes. You can also consider school models: Levenhuk Rainbow 2L, https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-microscope/ , Levenhuk Rainbow 2L PLUS, https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-plus-microscope/ and Levenhuk Rainbow 50L, https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-50l-microscope/ .
Mr Mr (2017.12.20)

Customer service:
Levenhuk LabZZ M101 Amethyst Microscope is not suitable for observing bugs, as it is only equipped with lower illumination. Lissa Lang (2017.07.03)
In order to see the tooth plaque I have to: take some tooth plaque with a toothpick, put it on a slide glass, add a drop of water and cover it with a cover slip?
Customer service:
You will need a laboratory-type microscope such as monocular Levenhuk 320 microscope in order to see the bacteria. https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk/levenhuk-320-base/ . Also, you will need to tint the bacteria.
Rebecca (2017.06.30)
Hello! Do I understand correctly, that I won't be able to see a living ant in this microscope because it doesn't have bottom illumination? Or I can simply use a flashlight? Could you recommend a microscope where I can observe transparent as well as non-transparent objects? Also with a larger field view (if it makes any difference)
Customer service:
Microscopes with upper illumination are used for observing non-transparent objects. Take a look at Levenhuk Rainbow 2L: https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-rainbow-2l-microscope/ .
Pamela Welch (2017.06.23)
We got a microscope as a birthday present for a 10 y.o. child. The price is impressively reasonable, everything needed for the research is included in the set. Slides are glass-made, not plastic ones! You can see a lot in this microscope. The lighting works on a battery (included in the set); brightness can be adjusted. So many advantages! No weak points. Definitely recommend!
