Questions and Answers
Papailiou Giorgos (2019.03.29)
Thank you for your fast answer!Yes,there is something more:can I adjust something in the lens so to measure immediately the size?Like a ruler with 0,02mm deviation?
Customer service:
Dear Papailiou Giorgos, I regret to inform you that it is impossible to measure the size immediately.
Papailiou Giorgos (2019.03.28)
Dear sirs,I'm thinking to buy this DTX500 Mobi model but I want to ask you about measuring some 0,02mm and bigger , should I capture the image and processing it in my computer or can I directly measure it?Thank you.
Customer service:
Dear Papailiou Giorgos, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! Yes, you need to capture the image, transfer it to your PC and measure it with the help of special software that comes in the kit. Is there any additional information you might need?
Alex Pamp (2018.03.16)
how can I measure linear sizes of observed objects?
Customer service:
Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi Microscope allows for precise measurements of linear sizes, angles, and radiuses using a special MicroCapture software.
Elwis Mett (2018.03.14)
The description on the website says that this microscope is suitable for precise measurements of observed samples. Does the kit include a calibration scale?
Customer service:
Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi Microscope Kit does not include a calibration scale.
Russ (2018.03.14)
My application is on a painted bridge surface, looking at scratches in the paint. I need 5 micrometre resolution. Can I put the clear shroud onto the surface to stabilize the microscope relative to the surface? If so, does this give me a fixed magnification without the zoom at that distance? If so do you sell accessory shrouds for say 20, 50, or 100 times magnification. Since I must ultimately measure the scratches, a fixed magnification suits my needs better. I am assuming that a fixed lens distance yields a fixed magnification...is that correct?
Customer service:
Dear Russ, thank you for interest in Levenhuk products! This model should fit your needs. Available resolution is 12 Mpx, 8 Mpx, 5 Mpx,3 Mpx, 1.3 Mpx, VGA.
Accuracy of the measurement is 1 micrometer. Is there any additional information you might need?
Kate Cobb (2017.01.09)
Good afternoon! Will I be able to see bacteria and their colonies and determine their genus?
Customer service:
Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi digital microscope is not designed for such purposes. Bacteria can be observed only with powerful microscopes (magnification starts at 1200x) and only by using special staining techniques. Consider Levenhuk D320L 3.1M Digital Monocular Microscope - https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-d320l-plus-3-1m-digital-monocular-microscope/ .
Pedro Bishop (2016.07.26)
Hello! Can I use this microscope to measure particle size of microcalcite, chalk, gypsum, limestone, etc.? Required range - 2-50 microns (0.002 mm - 0.05 mm).
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi Digital Microscope is suitable for your purpose.
Saul Harvey (2016.02.07)
Hello! Can I turn the lighting off ? Or is it always working?
Customer service:
Yes, you can turn the illumination off.
Clay Weaver (2016.02.04)
Hello! The microscope has 500x magnification power, right? Then why the focus wheel has only 260 marks? Those marks mean magnification level, right? Why I get different image resolution on different computers? One computer gives me 640x480 images, other - 1024. Do you have similar to this but more powerful microscopes?
Customer service:
Yes, the maximum magnification power of the microscope is 500x. Marks on the focus wheel are not related to magnification power. Image resolution can be changed through the software. Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi is the most powerful model in the Levenhuk DTX series.
Michaele Tompson (2015.10.17)
I have blurry images. At any resolution. I connect it to my laptop and use PortableCapture software. At some point it stopped making images and videos altogether, even restarting didn't help. Please help
Customer service:
Please download and install the latest version of the software from this page (References and Downloads tab)
Mr. Smith (2015.09.03)

Customer service:
After complete discharge of the battery the Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi digital microscope won't turn on if you connect it to a laptop.
Marco (2014.11.04)
8 years old kid. She wants to see bacteria. Is it possible to observe infusoria at least?
Customer service:
Levenhuk DTX 500 Mobi is not suitable for these purposes. To observe bacteria you will need a laboratory microscope. For example, Levenhuk 320 BASE Biological Monocular Microscope: https://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/levenhuk-320-base-biological-monocular-microscope/ .
