The MAGUS Bio 230TL biological microscope is an essential tool in a sanitary control laboratory as well as a diagnostic or research center. The microscope has a trinocular head and a transmitted light source (LED), and it is suitable for observing translucent and transparent samples. In the basic configuration, the brightfield technique is used for observations. With additional accessories, microscopy techniques, such as darkfield, polarized light, and phase contrast, are available for further research.
Digital camera
The digital HDMI-camera MAGUS CHD10 is equipped with a 2MP sensor and produces realistic Full HD images at a resolution of 1920x1080px. It is an autonomous camera that does not require connection to a computer or the installation of additional software. The camera can be connected directly to a TV, monitor, or projector to display an image. The HDMI interface provides a high and stable transfer rate from the camera to the external screen. Video is recorded at 60fps. The camera combines high FPS and high bandwidth HDMI. Therefore, videos are vivid, with no freezes or gaps between frames. At maximum resolution, the image is well-detailed, moving objects are visible without bugs, and object movement is displayed without delays.
Monitor
MAGUS MCD monitors work in combination with MAGUS CHD cameras to form a complete imaging system for MAGUS microscopes.
The connection to the camera occurs via its HDMI interface. The monitor displays real-time images. Its IPS LCD display has a wide viewing angle, high brightness, and good contrast. When looking at the screen even from a large angle, the image is not distorted. The screen size is 13.3''.
The monitor can be installed on a horizontal surface using a folding stand or mounted directly on a camera or tripod.
Optics
The observation tubes can rotate 360°, which enables you to adjust the eyepieces to fit the height of the observer. It is possible to adjust the diopter settings for the left tube. There is a vertical tube for mounting a digital camera (not included).
The microscope uses infinity achromatic objectives, and 5 objectives can be mounted simultaneously into the nosepiece. One slot is left free for adding an additional objective. The revolving nosepiece with objectives is oriented toward the interior – the user can see the objectives inserted into the optical path. The magnification range of the microscope is 40 to 1000x, the upper limit can be increased up to 1500, 1600, or 2000x with additional eyepieces.
Illumination
Thanks to the LED bulb, the color temperature does not change when adjusting the illumination. The LED bulb is 3W with a lifespan of 50,000 hours, and it is powered by the AC power supply.
The Abbe condenser has a slot for a darkfield or phase slider. With sliders, switching between microscopy techniques is much faster. The microscope is also equipped with a field diaphragm for setting up the Köhler illumination. The condenser is height-adjustable and can be centered.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The movement of the specimen is smooth and accurate. The mechanical attachment can be removed from the stage if needed (e.g., manual scanning). Moreover, a stage without a positioning rack is easier to work with.
The focusing knobs are coaxial and located on each side of the microscope so that the user can place their hands freely on the table. There are fine and coarse focusing knobs. The mechanisms move smoothly and, therefore, no further effort is required. There is a coarse focusing tension adjusting knob and a coarse focusing lock knob.
Accessories
Optional accessories expand the capabilities of the MAGUS Bio D230TL LCD microscope depending on specific applications. These include eyepieces, objectives, dark field and phase contrast condensers, polarization devices, digital cameras, calibration slides, etc.
