The Levenhuk Discovery Artisan 256 microscope is a portable digital microscope with an LCD screen and rechargeable battery that can be used for a variety of professional tasks. It can be utilized for quality control of metals, soldering, electronics, and clock repair. Moreover, it can be used for jewelry and art objects evaluation, viewing the structure of stones, coins, and other things. A handheld microscope is often used to check the quality of goods in stores and detect any possible mold growing on fruit and vegetables. The microscope is user-friendly. It can work with a computer (Windows and Mac OS are supported) or TV, it also allows you to take pictures, record videos, and measure distances, angles, radii, and areas.

The image is formed by a built-in 5 camera with interpolation up to 12Mpx. The illumination around the objective includes 8 white LEDs with adjustable brightness. If you don’t need the illumination, you can turn it off. The microscope magnification range is from 20x to 500x, the focus can be adjusted in manual mode in the range from 0 to 30 mm.

The microscope’s body is rubber-armored, which provides for a comfortable grip. The set includes a small stand. You can use it for long-term observation. For easy transportation of the microscope, a pouch is included.

Note: A memory card is used to record photos and videos (not included).

  • Portable digital microscope with 3'' LCD Screen
  • Can be connected to a Windows or Mac OS TV or computer

Recommendations on using the software:

Note: Remember that mains voltage in the U.S. and Canada is 110V and 220-240V in most European countries. Please refer to the specifications table for the correct voltage and never attempt to plug a 110 V device into a 220 V outlet and vice versa without using a converter.

Questions and Answers
NOOMEN BELFGUIRA (2024.10.17)
Hello

I would like to use this device to mesure a diameter of perofration holes in leather products.

the precision must be in 0.01 MM.

Is this product able to perform this activity?

if not what do you recommand?

Thank You
Customer service:
Hi NOOMEN BELFGUIRA,

thanks for your query.

The calibration ruler shows a maximum of 0.076 mm, which can be captured on a photo (the photo can be downloaded using software to a computer for measurement in the Portable Capture Plus program).

Therefore, this microscope model is not suitable for your needs.

For the current request, a microscope that uses a calibration slide with a division value of 0.01 mm would be suitable. For example, this could be a MAGUS Bio 230B Biological Microscope (82892) - https://eu.levenhuk.com/catalogue/microscopes/magus-bio-230b-biological-microscope/?oid=52703

Hope this helps!
