The Levenhuk Nitro 12x42 is a pair of roof prism binoculars with 12x magnification that are designed for the detailed study of very distant objects. It is useful for hunting, ornithological research, and surveillance. However, the main feature is that these binoculars are water- and fogproof, which means that they can be used effectively regardless of rain, snowstorms, or high humidity. It can also be mounted on a tripod to stabilize an image.
The lenses and prisms that deliver the image are made of BaK-4 glass. Due to the fully multi-coated optics, the image remains sharp and clear even in low-light conditions. You can use the central focusing wheel to adjust the sharpness – it sits comfortably under your fingers and allows you to change the focus while observing. The right eyepiece has a diopter adjustment ring that can be used to fine-tune the optics to compensate for any issue with your eyesight. The eyepieces are equipped with twist-up eyecups.
The body is made of high-strength ABS-plastic. This material makes the binoculars highly resistant to damage and at the same time does not weigh them down. For dust protection and better grip, they are covered with non-slip rubber coating and have textured inserts right on the optical tubes.
