Description

The Levenhuk New Skyline BASE 70/900 EQ1 is an achromatic refractor telescope on an equatorial mount. It is well-suited for observing the Moon, Solar System planets, and terrestrial objects. This model comes with everything a beginner astronomer needs: anti-reflection coated optics for bright, crisp views; two eyepieces and a Barlow lens for different magnifications; and a diagonal mirror for comfortable terrestrial viewing. The telescope and accessories are packed in a colorful box, making the Levenhuk New Skyline BASE 70/900 EQ1 an excellent gift choice.

A classic refractor

With its 70mm achromatic objective lens and 900mm focal length, the telescope produces bright, sharp images with minimal distortion. The 10mm (90x) and 25mm (36x) eyepieces, together with the 2x Barlow lens, provide a solid range of magnifications for sweeping views and detailed close-ups alike. A 6x24 optical finderscope helps you locate targets in the sky, while the diagonal mirror lets you observe terrestrial objects comfortably.

EQ1 equatorial mount

The telescope is mounted on an EQ1 equatorial mount, which allows for smooth, accurate tracking of celestial objects and compensates for Earth’s rotation. Slow-motion controls make fine adjustments easy and precise. The tripod legs adjust to different heights, and the accessory tray keeps extra eyepieces within easy reach. A counterweight system minimizes vibrations and, therefore, your image will stay steady even at higher magnifications.
