Description

Levenhuk Ra 200N F5 OTA is an optical tube for deep space exploration. This is a powerful and high-aperture Newtonian reflector that can be used for both visual observations and astrophotography. This Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) will be a real catch for any amateur astronomer, as you can see many nebulae, galaxies and star clusters with it as well as lunar craters, dust storms on Mars, Saturn's rings, and even the Galilean moons of Jupiter. You can observe many astronomical objects in detail.

The optical design of the telescope is based on the primary mirror with a 200mm diameter. It is covered with aluminum coating. Its reflectivity index is 92~96%. The transmitted image is crisp and clear, and optical distortion does not appear even at the maximum magnification. There is a cooling fan on the back of the telescope tube. It almost doubles the temperature stabilization of optics. It makes it possible to equalize the temperature of the mirror with the ambient temperature much faster than it happens in other telescopes. This is important if the OTA is stored in a warm room and is taken outside for observation. The fan is powered by batteries (purchased separately).

The sharpness is adjusted more smoothly and precisely in comparison with entry-level models. The reason for this advantage is a dual-speed Crayford focuser.

The optical tube has a standard set of mounts, so it can be installed on most modern mounts.

Please note: Mount, tripod, and eyepieces are not included.

Features:

  • Optical tube with paraboloid primary mirror 200 mm in diameter
  • Active cooling of optics for faster temperature stabilization
  • Special aluminum coating with a reflectivity index of 92~96%
  • High aperture, minimum optical distortion even at extreme magnification
  • Dual-speed Crayford focuser for precise focus adjustments
  • Universal mounting system: compatible with most mounts

The kit includes:

  • Telescope optical tube
  • Finder 8x50mm
  • Finder scope base
  • Dovetail plate
  • Tube rings (2 pcs.)
  • Extension tube 35mm
  • Cooling fan
  • User manual and lifetime warranty

Leo Kane (2014.11.23)
Hello! I would like to purchase my first telescope to be able to observe astronomical objects. 1. I am not sure which optical design (refractor of reflector) I should choose. 2. Speaking of the telescope's aperture, this telescope seems to be great, but it looks like the kit doesn't include a tripod and eyepieces, so I guess it's not suitable for me cause I'm a beginner... 3. I'm going to observe (most of the time) in the city and use the instrument mainly for observing deep-sky objects. 4. And also I have doubts about shipping... will the package get to Alaska safely??
Customer service:
1. Refractors perform exceptionally well in the city, they successfully cope with urban light pollution. Refractors are perfect for observations of the Moon, binary stars, they are also easy to use. 2. We recommend that you consider Levenhuk Strike 900 PRO Telescope - https://eu.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-strike-900-pro/ ; or Levenhuk Skyline PRO 105 MAK Telescope - https://eu.levenhuk.com/catalogue/telescopes/levenhuk-skyline-pro-105-mak/ . 3. The telescope will be delivered to you safe and sound.

mark baker (2014.01.10)
Hi. Will I be able to maintain the main mirror by myself and what cleaning stuff do I need? Thanks in advance
Customer service:
Yes, you can, if you are totally sure of what you are doing. The mirror can be washed if it get dusty. All you have to do is melt some baby soap in distilled water and churn it. After washing it you should rinse the mirror with clean distilled water and not wipe it, but let it dry in a vertical position so the drops can flow down.
