Description

Levenhuk Plössl 4mm is a short-focus multi-element eyepiece with a 1.25'' barrel diameter. It can be used with most modern telescopes of any brand and optical design. It is a great choice for observing the moon and the planets in the solar system. Due to a special thread, light filters can be installed on this eyepiece. This will allow for observing astronomical objects at the most detailed level.

The lenses are made of fully multi-coated glass. The focal length is 4mm, and the field of view is 50°. The aluminum body protects eyepiece's optics. The fold-down rubber eyecup makes long observation more comfortable.

Features:

  • Multi-element optics
  • Fully multi-coated glass lenses
  • Comfortable 50° field of view
  • Provides high magnification with any telescope
  • Thread for a light filter installation

The kit includes:

Questions and Answers
Elvin Rice (2016.02.01)
Levenhuk Strike 90 Plus telescope together with this eyepiece will produce 150x magnification. The manual says that image quality deteriorates at high magnifications. Is it true?
Customer service:
The maximum useful magnification of Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope is 180x. As this value is not exceeded, the image quality won't deteriorate.
Kris Levy (2015.06.02)
I own Meade etx-90, f-1250, d=90. Which eyepiece (with the highest possible magnification power) will be suitable for this telescope model?
Customer service:
With Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece the highest practical power of your telescope will be exceeded. We recommend that you consider Levenhuk Super Plossl 7.5 mm Eyepiece. This eyepiece will give you 170x increase.
Tom13 (2015.05.23)
So can I use it or not? Image quality low or acceptable?
Customer service:
With Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece installed on your telescope you will exceed its highest practical power. Please consider Levenhuk Plossl 6.3 mm Eyepiece
Tom13 (2015.05.22)
Celestron AstroMaster 114 EQ?
Customer service:
The highest practical power of your telescope is 228x, with Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece you will exceed it (250x). You can use this eyepiece with your telescope, but image quality will be reduced.
Chris (2015.03.31)
Hello! Can you tell me which eyepiece I should purchase to get the highest practical power of Levenhuk skyline pro 105?
Customer service:
Hello Chris, thank you for your inquiry.
To obtain the maximum useful magnification of your telescope (204x), you will need a 6.3 mm eyepiece (1300/204 = 6.4).
You can find the Levenhuk Plössl 6.3 mm Eyepiece here online
Is there any additional information you might need?
Zoe Zier (2015.03.24)
Hello, please help me, I'm kind of lost. I want to take pictures with my webcam and also increase magnification with Barlow, but I can't connect the cam to the eyepiece….
Customer service:
The camera should be installed instead of the eyepiece.
Charles Ward (2015.02.23)
My telescope is Levenhuk Skyline 120x1000, I want to purchase 4 mm eyepiece to use with it. Which one should I choose?
Customer service:
We don't recommend using a 4 mm eyepiece with the Levenhuk Skyline 120x1000 EQ telescope as the highest practical power of the telescope will be exceeded. What you need is 4.3 mm eyepiece. Unfortunately, eyepieces with 4.3 mm focal length are currently unavailable in our store.
Thomas Moore (2015.02.04)
What magnification will this eyepiece provide with the Levenhuk Strike 90 Plus telescope?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece will give you 150x increase when used with Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS Telescope.
Thomas Moore (2015.02.02)
Hello! What's the magnification of the eyepiece?
Customer service:
Please specify your telescope model. The eyepiece magnification depends on the telescope focal length.
Mark Norton (2014.07.23)
Another couple of question from me1. If I use 2x Barlow lens I will reach 400x magnification... but the image quality won't be very good, right? 2. So the idea is that it doesn't make sense to buy an eyepiece less than 5 mm? Thank you for your help!
Customer service:
1. The maximum useful magnification of your telescope model (without quality loss) is about 200x. When using 2x Barlow Lens with an eyepiece from the kit it will be 80x. With 5 mm eyepiece the highest practical power will be exceeded and it will significantly affect image quality.
2. Yes, moreover you should not use a Barlow lens with 5 mm eyepiece.
Martin Safrit (2014.06.24)
Hello! Tell me what eyepiece should I purchase to get the highest practical power of Levenhuk skyline pro 127?
Customer service:
To obtain the highest practical power of Levenhuk Skyline PRO 127 MAK you will need an eyepiece with the focal length of 6 mm, for example Levenhuk Ra LER 6 mm Eyepiece - https://eu.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-ra-ler-6mm-1-25-eyepiece/
Spencer Collins (2014.06.24)
Hi! Which eyepiece should I use for Sky-Watcher BK 1149EQ2 (for planetary observations, magnification should be no less than 180x): Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm or Levenhuk Ra Plossl 4 mm?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4mm will be a preferred choice for your telescope.
alex (2014.05.19)
Hello! Tell me please what to choose 3.5 mm eyepiece or, for example, 7-7.5mm and with barlow lens I could achieve the same magnification of 140x? What about image quality? Is it better to use 3.5 mm eyepiece alone or a combination of 7-7.5mm eyepiece with barlow?
Customer service:
It's better to reduce number of optical accessories to minimum, so it's reasonable to purchase 3.5 mm eyepiece.
Oliver Knight (2014.05.04)
Hello, I have Sky-Watcher BK705AZ2, I know that its highest magnification is 140x, could you please tell me which eyepiece should I use to get closer to 140X? The standard kit includes 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces and Barlow lens, if I get it right with this set top magnification is 100x only, please help.
Customer service:
To get your telescope to its highest practical power you need an eyepiece with focal length of 3.5 to 3.7 mm, unfortunately currently we don't have the right model for you.
Stan Leider (2014.04.22)
Will it work for me if I install it on my SW 15012EQ3-2? I mean if my calculations are correct I will get exactly the highest practical magnification... does it make any sense or is it better for me to use 5 mm eyepiece?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece is great for your telescope, the resulting magnification will be about 300x.
Nona (2014.04.11)
Can I use it with Celestron PowerSeeker 114 EQ?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece is perfect for your telescope.
Chris Culver (2014.04.08)

Customer service:
Yes, it's possible, please contact our Customer Service Department: https://eu.levenhuk.com/company/contact-us/
Dean Kelley (2014.03.31)
Greetings! Is it suitable for Levenhuk 120x1000?
Customer service:
If you use Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece with Levenhuk Skyline 120x1000 EQ the highest practical power will be exceeded. In this case 4.5 mm eyepiece is more suitable.
tyler (2014.03.17)
Could you please tell me... can I use this eyepiece with Levenhuk Ra250 dob and what increase will I get? Is it appropriate to use it for observing the Moon? Thanks in advance!
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece can be used with Levenhuk Ra 250N Dob and it will produce about 313x increase. It is perfect for observing the Moon.
Jay Willis (2014.03.14)
this eyepiece corrects the image, doesn't it? (it's not gonna be reversed or mirrored right?)
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm is not erecting eyepiece so it doesn't 'correct' the image.
Shane Madden (2014.02.28)
well .. It's sad. But thank you anyway! It's a lesson for the future:) as soon as I test it I will leave the feedback.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece!
Shane Madden (2014.02.27)
Hello! I bought this eyepiece today. My telescope is really old (I can't find this model now: D - 100 mm, focal length is about 900 mm). Through the finderscope the image is sharp and clear, but as soon as I look through the main mirror the image becomes blurred. I suppose I've exceeded the maximum practical power of the telescope... (using 10 mm eyepiece I can see everything, but I'd like to see more detailed image) which eyepiece should I choose? {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/.link.link }} }}? or Barlow lens maybe? {{ {{ http://www.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-barlow-lenses/levenhuk-2x-barlow-lens/.link.link }} }}
Customer service:
The highest practical power of your telescope is 200x. And with Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece the magnification reaches 225x. Levenhuk Plossl 6 mm - https://eu.levenhuk.com/catalogue/accessories/telescope-accessories/telescope-eyepieces/levenhuk-plossl-6mm-eyepiece/ will be a better choice for use with your telescope, so we recommend you to purchase it.
Tommy Stuart (2014.02.11)
Tell me please, can I expect significant difference in image quality using Levenhuk Kellner 6.3 mm Eyepiece with astromaster 90 eq telescope?
Customer service:
With your telescope Levenhuk Kellner 6.3 mm Eyepiece will provide 158x magnification. But it is necessary to understand that under the extreme magnifications the image loses its brightness and contrast.
Brett Ratliff (2013.12.30)
Meade ETX-80AT-TC: if paired with built-in Barlow? 200x - it seems too much for this telescope... In the product's description 200x useful magnification is specified, although the aperture is 80...
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback. You have got the wrong information, the highest practical power of your telescope is 160x and not 200x.
Brett Ratliff (2013.12.29)
Does this eyepiece fit Meade ETX-80AT-TC? Will it be useful at all??
Customer service:
Yes, Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece fits your telescope. Magnification will be 100x.
Brad Vinson (2013.12.26)
Is this eyepiece suitable for Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ Telescope? What magnification will I get? Which eyepiece will provide the maximum magnification?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece is not suitable for Levenhuk Skyline 90x900 EQ Telescope. The highest practical power is objective lens diameter multiplied by two (180x). To understand what magnification you will get with a certain eyepiece, you need to know focal length (900 mm in your case), divided by the focal length of an eyepiece (4mm) - so we obtain 225x (as you already know the highest practical power is exceeded).

The same way we can calculate which eyepiece we need to get 180x. 900 divided by 180 equals 5 - therefore the correct answer is 5 mm!
Dean (2013.11.15)
Is this eyepiece suitable for Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS? And what the image quality will be like?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece perfectly suits the Levenhuk Strike 90 PLUS telescope, with this eyepiece you will get the magnification of 150x. The image quality will be quite good but the field of view will be less than with long focal length eyepieces.
William Cobb (2013.08.20)
Is this eyepiece suitable for Levenhuk Skyline 70x700?
Customer service:
No, the image quality leaves much to be desired, because you exceed the highest practical power of 140x (with the eyepiece the magnification is 175x).
Erica Kurz (2013.07.20)
Is this eyepiece alright for Orion Starmax 102mm? Is the focus ok?
Customer service:
Unfortunately, Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece isn't suitable for your telescope, because you'll exceed the highest practical power. To get one you need an eyepiece with 6.5 mm focal length.
Teri Wells (2013.07.18)
What magnification do I get with this eyepiece on Celestron Travel Scope 70? Is this a good combination at all?
Customer service:
Levenhuk Plossl 4 mm Eyepiece provides 100x on Celestron Travel Scope 70. The combination is pretty good.
