The Levenhuk CR10 Glass Compressor for trichina is designed to prepare meat samples for testing for trichinella, a parasite dangerous to humans and animals. Timely detection of trichinella larvae in samples, which infect muscle tissue, makes it possible to avoid eating contaminated meat. The compressor will be helpful for veterinary and sanitary examination and agriculture as well as when hunting wild boars, bears, badgers, and other animals that can carry trichinosis. In addition, the compressor is useful for identifying parasite larvae in fish, shellfish, and poultry meat.

The device consists of two thick glass plates with clamping screws that are fixed with wing nuts. Muscle tissue samples are placed in numbered rectangular fields on the glass plate bottom and pressed tightly with the glass plate top.
