Description

MAGUS CHD50 is a camera that is designed to be integrated with a microscope. The device comes with built-in software that can be used to take photo and video, process the results, and carry out measurements of the subject. Three types of interfaces (HDMI, WLAN, and USB2.0) connect the camera to a computer or other device capable of displaying photos and videos. The 8MP sensor creates high-quality images in 4K resolution (3840x2160px), and the camera can automatically switch to playback in Full HD (1920x1080px) if required by the external screen. The video frame rate is 30fps. The device is equipped with an autofocus function. The result is a high-quality, realistic, detailed image without delays, tearing, or blurring, even if the subject is moving.

Sensor

The device is built on an 8MP SONY Starvis CMOS sensor. The backlight method produces a light sensitivity of 505mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. The sensor size is 1/1.8'' with a 2.0x2.0μm pixel size. To create the widest field of view without deformations, use an adapter with a magnification of 0.5x to 0.75x.

Software

The camera can be connected to a computer via USB2.0 and WLAN as well as to a TV, monitor, or projector via the HDMI connector. With an HDMI connection, the camera focuses on the subject automatically, resulting in clear photos or videos without any extra effort. The software enables you to edit the resulting image as well as measure the linear and angular dimensions of objects and their structures. To take measurements, calibrate the camera software for each objective using a calibration slide.

Microscope installation

You can integrate the camera with the microscope by installing it in the trinocular tube or in the eyepiece tube in place of an eyepiece. In both cases, you will need a C-mount adapter. To connect to the eyepiece tube, you will also need an adapter ring to fit its diameter.

Additional devices

For more efficient operation, it is recommended to connect the camera with additional devices. Using a mouse will remove the vibrations when making direct contact with the camera (connects via the USB port). You can save photos and videos on an SD card or flash drive. To create a complete imaging system, special MAGUS monitors can be used. They can be installed directly on the camera and integrated with any MAGUS microscope.
