Levenhuk Skyline BASE 80S Telescope is a Newtonian reflector with a 76mm primary mirror. This telescope is excellent for exploring deep-space objects including nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, double and dim stars. It allows for observing almost all Messier objects but not in detail. Levenhuk Skyline BASE 80S Telescope is an ideal reflector for a beginner astronomer who dreams about exploring the Universe.
One of the features of Levenhuk Skyline BASE 80S is an alt-azimuth mount. It allows even inexperienced observers to operate this telescope. The mount allows for moving the optical tube vertically and horizontally, like a spotting scope. A 6x finderscope helps in pointing the telescope to objects.
The rich kit is also worth mentioning. When you purchase a telescope, you get two eyepieces with a different focal length and a Barlow lens. You can choose appropriate magnification for observations by combining them. Low magnification is practical for studying extended nebulae, high magnification is used for observing star clusters.
An aluminum tripod provides for stable position of the telescope even on rough surfaces. You can set up an accessory tray and use it for keeping additional eyepieces, compass, star chart, and more. The tripod features adjustable legs.

What kind of main mirror is used in these reflectors: spherical or parabolic? If spherical, how is spherical aberration problem solved? How to collimate this telescope if there is no collimating screws at the back of a tube? Moreover, how is collimating or mirror cleaning possible if the instruction tells not to remove mirror from it's housing? Thank you. Levenhuk Customer Service:
Dear Daniel, thank you for your inquiry. The telescope comes with the spherical mirror. The telescope is collimated in the factory. In the unlikely case if the telescope becomes out of collimation, we'd recommend to use a Cheshire eyepiece. Is there any additional information you might need?
