Description

The Levenhuk Solar System F4 filter set includes light filters for a telescope. These filters are useful for studying outer space. They increase the contrast between inhomogeneously-lit areas of planets, allowing you to observe more small details. This set will make the solar system exploration more exciting. All filters feature a 1.25" barrel diameter and are equipped with an internal thread for combining different filters.

Levenhuk 1.25" Optical Filter #23A (Light-red)
This filter is irreplaceable when studying the planets of the solar system, especially Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter. It is also well suited for daytime observations of Venus and twilight observations of Mercury. The Levenhuk 1.25" Optical Filter #23A (Light-red) emphasizes the brightness of the tail dust particles of comets. The filter has low light transmission and is recommended for use with telescopes with an aperture from 130mm.

Levenhuk 1.25" Optical Filter #58 (Green)
This is also a good filter for with an aperture from 130mm. Being installed on lens telescopes (refractors), it effectively eliminates chromatism and increases the image resolution. It is recommended for observing Mars, Saturn's Polar Regions, and Jupiter's atmosphere as well as the moon and bright comets.

Levenhuk 1.25" Optical Filter #80A (Blue)
This is one of the most popular filters for observing planets. It is irreplaceable when examining the Great Red Spot on Jupiter and details on the rings of Saturn. It is well suited for studying the atmosphere and the polar ice caps of Mars. It is helpful when observing Venus and Mercury. This filter can also be used for observing binary stars, comets, and the moon.

Levenhuk 1.25" Optical Filter #12 (Yellow)
This filter features high light transmission, so it can be used on small aperture telescopes. One of the most popular filters for observing Mars. It is well suited for observing Jupiter and Saturn as well as for detailed studies of the rings of Neptune and Uranus. This filter can be used for observing comet tails and the lunar surface.

Shepard Dunn (2015.02.15)
This is a good filter set, reasonably priced and extensive. The red filter gives you better contrast during lunar observations with low and medium magnifications. The yellow filter does the same with higher magnification, it is also great for observing Saturn and Jupiter. The green one helped me to observe polar caps on Mars. If you combine blue and green filters, you will get something similar to neutral 13% lunar filter. The green filter itself is close to neutral gray. But for me the red one still worked better. The blue filter is close to Moon&Skyglow, so you can try using it for deep-sky observations in the city. Resume: excellent set for all occasions that will not burden your set of telescope accessories with too much glass.
Customer service:
Thank you for your feedback on Solar System Levenhuk F4 Filter Set.
Lily (2014.12.18)
